Fun! The queso fundido with chorizo and the chorizo empanadas were both lovely. Highly recommend. The carnitas tacos and the Carne Asada tacos were both very very good, the duck confit was okay but not as good as the other two. would go back. Service was very good, and friendly.

Upscale, Mexican restaurant in downtown Anchorage. Great atmosphere and decorations. The only suggestion I really have is to reupholster the couches in the front because they are stained. Excellent service and decent variety of choices without being overwhelming like many Mexican restaurants. The duck confit is there diner drive-through and dive recommendation. My wife had a chicken tortilla soup, which was awesome and I normally do not like chicken tortilla soup.

Tequila 61 is a must-visit spot in Anchorage! If you’re looking for incredible cocktails and next-level food, this is the place. I started with one of their fancy margaritas, and WOW—it was perfectly balanced, beautifully crafted, and absolutely delicious. You can tell they take pride in their drinks, and it shows in every sip. For food, we tried the duck tacos, rockfish tacos, and shrimp ceviche, and every bite was top-notch. The duck tacos were rich and flavorful, the rockfish tacos were fresh and perfectly seasoned, and the shrimp ceviche was light, bright, and packed with flavor. Everything was plated beautifully and tasted even better than it looked. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the service was attentive and knowledgeable. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, I highly recommend checking this place out—you won’t be disappointed!

Stopped in here after a bike ride. The best place we could have stopped at. Service was amazing Paulyne (yes the spelling is correct, I asked) was very attention and detailed oriented. She was on top of our needs and explained some of the drinks we had questions about and the food. The food was great! It was some of the best I've had lately. Definitely a place I'll be going back to. Just phenomenal! Thanks Paulyne!!

I’m from San Diego. I’m allergic to bad Mexican food. I’m amazed at how awesome Tequila 61 is being so far from its origins. To be fair, there is zero spice (as in heat) in the food, but everything is cooked to perfection and the flavors are exciting and well balanced. The atmosphere is awesome. A little loud, but fine for lively Anchorage. Lovely artwork and thoughtfully selected tables and chairs. Staff is attentive and friendly. Wholeheartedly endorse this place.

The food here is amazing! Perfect sized portions and easily shareable if in a group like mine where nobody could decide what to get (everything looks tasty). The staff is very friendly and attentive. The decor inside is modern but with a slight industrial vibe. The big table is WAY cool as it's made out a giant chain. The lighting is slightly dim but gives a trendy atmosphere. I highly recommend this place, especially if you are looking for high end Latin food. Their duck "street" tacos are mouthwatering. Good vegetarian options as well!
